Juneau Park

PLM Paving was selected for this project due to our ability to coordinate work within the park’s busy event schedule while maintaining safe access for visitors.

Project Overview

PLM Paving was selected to complete asphalt pathway improvements at Juneau Park in downtown Milwaukee, restoring nearly 4,000 linear feet of park pathways. The project involved removing aging pavement and installing approximately 700 tons of new asphalt, creating smooth, durable walking paths for the thousands of visitors who use the park each year.

Because Juneau Park hosts frequent events and receives heavy daily use, the project required detailed planning to ensure construction work did not interfere with park operations or visitor access.

Project Challenge

Working within a busy downtown park environment presented unique logistical challenges. Access for crews and equipment was limited, and construction schedules had to align with a packed calendar of public events and seasonal park operations.

To minimize disruption, PLM Paving carefully coordinated project phases with Milwaukee County Parks, scheduling work during off-peak periods and maintaining safe access for park visitors throughout the process.

Scope of Work

PLM Paving performed a full asphalt pathway replacement throughout Juneau Park. Key project elements included:

  • Removal of existing asphalt pathways
  • Installation of approximately 700 tons of asphalt
  • Restoration of nearly 4,000 linear feet of park pathways
  • Careful coordination with Milwaukee County Parks’ event and operating schedules
  • Work completed with limited site access in a busy urban park setting

Project Outcome

The completed improvements provide smooth, long-lasting asphalt pathways that enhance accessibility and improve the visitor experience throughout Juneau Park. The upgraded surfaces are designed to handle heavy pedestrian traffic and year-round park use while maintaining the natural beauty and functionality of the space.

By coordinating closely with park officials and scheduling work around events and seasonal operations, PLM Paving delivered the project with minimal disruption to visitors and park programming.

“Partnership with Milwaukee county parks has been awesome. Feels really good to give these beautiful parks a face lift. These are parks that I enjoy, personally.”

— Trevor Wallner, Project Manager
