Project Overview

PLM Paving completed a comprehensive pavement restoration project at Saint Benedict Abbey, revitalizing approximately 208,000 square feet of paved surface across the property. The project required extensive coordination of crews, equipment, and materials to restore the site’s infrastructure and deliver a durable, long-lasting pavement system designed to support daily traffic and long-term use.

Project Challenge

The Saint Benedict Abbey property required a large-scale restoration of its aging pavement surfaces. The scope of the site meant that multiple phases of work had to be carefully planned to maintain efficiency while coordinating heavy equipment, trucking logistics, and material delivery. Ensuring a stable base and proper grading across such a large area was essential to creating a pavement structure that would perform reliably for years to come.

Scope of Work

PLM Paving performed a full range of sitework and paving services to restore the property’s pavement infrastructure. Key project elements included:

Excavation: 1,800 tons
Milling: 2,350 tons
Asphalt paving: 2,500 tons
Stone placement: 900 tons
Concrete installation: 520 yards
Trucking: 500 hours
Labor: Nearly 2,000 man-hours

Additional services included site grading, pavement installation, and final striping to complete the restored parking and traffic areas.

Project Outcome

The completed project delivered a fully restored and structurally sound pavement system across the Saint Benedict Abbey property. With upgraded base materials, new asphalt surfaces, and precise striping, the site now offers improved durability, safety, and functionality. The work ensures the pavement can withstand long-term use while providing a clean, professional appearance for the facility.
