Sealcoating

Children's Sealcoat

What Is Sealcoating?

Sealcoating provides essential protection for pavement by guarding against oxidation and chemical spills while enhancing its appearance. This durable material revitalizes worn surfaces and acts as a preventative measure against future damage.

How Frequently Is Sealcoating Required?

The frequency with which sealcoat should be applied depends on these three factors:

The pavement’s age and condition

How often the pavement is used

Local climate and weather conditions

Reactive vs. Proactive Maintenance

Reactive Maintenance

Reactive maintenance is less effective because:

Proactive Maintenance

Proactive maintenance is a more effective alternative to reactive maintenance because it addresses minor damage before it worsens. Other benefits include the following:

The Process

We abide by the same six-step process for each sealcoating service:

Prepare

We remove debris and other obstructions from the paved surface to make sure the sealcoat material applies properly. We also fill cracks, patch potholes, and perform other repair tasks as needed.

Edge and Tape

We separate the areas that need sealcoating from the areas that don’t need sealcoating with tape or other materials.

Apply the Sealcoat

We use a spray or squeegee system to apply the coal-tar-based or asphalt-based sealcoat material.

Coat Application

We cover the sealcoat in an additional protective layer to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth surface.

Dry & Cure

We let the sealcoat dry for 12 to 36 hours.

Striping and Markings

We paint lane markings, parking spot lines, and more as requested.
